WKGB Selection Criteria

Associations are requested to send their best competitors. The criteria for selection eligibility is compulsory participation in squad training. Selection is dependent on the current form & stats.

The Welsh National Karate Team is selected for high-profile events i.e. K1, Grand Slam, Commonwealth, European & World Championships.

Squad training is normally for 6th kyu & above. The age range is 8yrs and above and is open to ALL WKGB members of the required age and grade, able-bodied & disabled athletes.

All those attending squad training must have their association Chief Instructor’s permission and hold a current WKGB licence.

The use of photography and visual recording as training aid is advantageous to the squad sessions and may be taking place. Anyone objecting to this should not attend.
